Kathmandu, July 14 CPN-Maoist Centre said on Friday it will not let the Parliament pass budget-related Bills before it votes in favour of a no-confidence motion tabled against the KP Sharma Oli-led ruling coalition. Friday’s meeting of the party held at Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s residence made this decision, party Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal informed. The Maoist party has withdrawn support to the Oli-led ruling coalition and tabled a no-confidence motion against it in the Parliament with support from the main opposition Nepali Congress. In the wake of the Maoist move, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said he will face the Parliament instead of quitting. The Oli-headed CPN-UML, which leads the coalition, says PM Oli should highlight achievements of the Oli government. While defending his government in the House, PM Oli wants to know what wrongs did he commit that made parties table a no-confidence motion against him. The Oli government had been drawing fire for delay in post-quake reconstruction work and for its failure to address simmering discontent in Nepal’s southern plains. At the same time, its efforts to strengthen relations with China, in the wake of the India-imposed blockade and protests in the plains, has received praise. The Oli government has landed in crisis nine months after it came to power. Interestingly, the government of UML Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari had also lasted nine months. The Nepali Congress had forced Adhikari, considered quite popular for his populist programmes, to resign when he was on hospital bed.
